Paula J. Conlon
Doc Tate Nevaquaya’s solo flute album, Comanche Flute Music Played by Doc Tate Nevaquaya, has a special place in author PAULA J. CONLON’s heart. It was listening to the album shortly after its release in 1979 that solidified her decision to become an ethnomusicologist. From 1996 to 2017, Dr. Conlon taught Indigenous and world music at the University of Oklahoma’s school of music. Living in Doc Tate Nevaquaya’s home state allowed her to work closely with co-authors EDMOND TATE NEVAQUAYA and TIMOTHY TATE NEVAQUAYA on the biography of their father.
Dr. Conlon is currently a professor emerita working out of her hometown, Ottawa, Canada. Email: pconlon@ou.edu.
